Sustainability Week: Did You Know?
- Enough sunlight reaches the earth’s surface each minute to satisfy the world’s energy demands—for an entire year.
- From 2008 to 2030, world energy consumption is expected to increase more than 55%.
- The USA's Mojave Desert is home to the world's largest solar power plant.
- Americans constitute less than 5% of the world's population but consume 25% of world's resources, including 26% of the world's energy, having only 3% of the world's known oil reserves, and generates roughly 30% of the world's waste.
- The amount of energy produced by the sun in a 2 week period equals the combined stored energy of all the coal, iron, and natural gas reserves known to man.

Thursday's Philosophy Night: Eco-Themed!
Friday Morning - Volunteer at the Lasauvage Nature School!
For those of you in the History 270 course without class Friday morning, we have the opportunity to send a few students to the Lasauvage Nature School. In the past we have been able to help the students of Differdange plant gardens/make homemade apple cider/take vegetables from the garden to make a meal - it is always outrageously fun! Check out their Facebook Page or see Katie for more details! | |
