If you have not yet already, you should absolutely register with the American Embassy's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive travel warnings, alerts, and up to date information in the countries you are traveling. It also allows the embassies to better assist you in case of an emergency and/or lost and stolen passports.
